What is a naturopathic consultation?
A naturopathic consultation gives you the opportunity to discuss all of your health concerns in a private, comfortable consultation room. This type of detailed and comprehensive consultation is what allows us as naturopaths to provide the complete care that you deserve. The practitioner is then able to extract information about your health that are often forgotten, gone unnoticed, or misinterpreted, in order to identify the root cause of your problem. A number of physical examinations (including Live Blood Screening, blood pressure reading, tongue analysis and zinc testing) are also utilized to further assist determining the underlying causes of illness.
Based on the findings, you will then receive a detailed treatment plan which is tailored specifically to your needs. Not one treatment plan is made the same. Naturopathic medicine appreciates that you are an individual, and therefore requires a unique approach to improve your health.

What can I expect?
- You will be asked to fill in a health questionnaire before the initial consultation. This includes information on your medical history, family history, current medication and supplements, current diet regime, etc.
- The initial consultation is 90 minutes long, which usually involves a Hemaview test (live blood screening) and some physical examinations, such as blood pressure reading, tongue and nail analysis, zinc tally testing, etc. You will be asked many questions during this time, which will help to provide all the necessary information to create a detailed and effective treatment plan.
- A short follow-up appointment is then made within the week after your initial consultation where the treatment plan, Hemaview report and any other information is presented to you.
- Follow up appointments are usually between 30-60 minutes at monthly intervals unless specified otherwise.
